    One of the only townships located in Camden County, NJ is Voorhees Township. Voorhees Township is a part Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. Voorhees was originally established as a township in 1899 after portions of Waterford Township were taken. The township derived its name from Foster MacGowan Voorhees, the Governor of New Jersey who permitted the creation of Voorhees Township. According to the 2010 census, the township had a population of 29,131 residents. Commuting to and from Voorhees is quite easy as major highways pass through the township such as Route 73, Interstate 295 and Route 70.
