  • About Bogota, NJ :
    Bogota, NJ was formed in 1895 from parts of Ridgefield Township, NJ and is part of Bergen County. Bogota was named in honor of the "Bogert" family, who were the first to occupy the area. The town name is pronounced "buh-GO-ta" and not like the capital of Colombia. As of the 2010 census, the population of Bogota, NJ was just over 8,100 residents. The municipal courthouse in Bogota routinely sees a couple of disorderly persons complaints, as well as an average of around 15 traffic citations & DWI charges weekly.
